So, what is the law of attraction anyway?

The Law of Attraction is definitely not a new concept. It's been used around the world for centuries.  However, since the movie The Secret came out in 2006, it has become a well-known concept that many people have used to transform their lives.  If you haven't seen this movie - check it out! It's a great introduction to the concept, and it's available on Netflix. The movie is based on a book written by Rhonda Byrne - which is a great introduction to the concept of manifestation and the law of attraction. 

But what is the law of attraction exactly? Well, the Law of Attraction, is based on this one simple premise: what we think about, we become. Thoughts become things. If we really believe in something, it will happen. Like a self-fulfilling prophecy. 

So if we put this in the simplest terms possible for the purpose of this post: Whatever you focus on, you will attract it into your life. You have the power to create your reality by changing your mindset. 

This can work for us, and against us. If we focus on how amazing life is, how we are abundant in all aspects, and how grateful we are for what we have, we will attract more of that into our lives. By the same token, if we focus on what we don't have, the feelings of lack - we will also attract more of that into our lives.

When we begin to understand this concept, life becomes really really interesting. I have manifested some of the craziest situations into my life (which I'll share in another post) and my life became infinitely better as soon as I began applying these principles daily.

You have literally attracted your current circumstances, based on your predominate thoughts (conscious and subconscious) and what energy you are emanating on a daily basis. So you can take an audit of your current life, and get a good understanding of your predominant thought pattern.

Manifesting relies on our mindset and our thoughts. To manifest your dreams, you must shift your mindset to start believing its possible - to start expecting great things. 

For example, if you believe you are bound to have financial struggles, and believe that wealth does not come easily, and you are drowning in debt and that is all you can think of - you will state in this frequency and attract more financial struggles. 

But, on the other hand, if you have a clear vision of your dreams and know what you want to achieve and believe it is possible - you can manifest that into existence. 

Everything is energy. Our thoughts have a frequency and when we match that frequency to things we want to manifest, amazing things start to unfold. 

Start today by creating a gratitude practice. Every morning when you wake up, write things you are grateful for. Before you got to bed, review that list and add more things you are grateful for.  By being grateful now, you will attract more great things into your life.
